About The Event

On 14 September 2026, the SGLN Biopharma Leaders Programme brought together leaders from across Singapore’s biopharma ecosystem for its second Learning Event of the year.

The event featured three senior leaders representing different stages of the journey from molecule to patient:

• Mr Koh Liang Hong, Site Head, Modulus, Sanofi Singapore and Co-Chair, BMAC
• Mr John Graham, Group Chief Executive Officer, Zuellig Pharma
• Associate Professor Tan Hiang Khoon, Chief Executive Officer, Singapore General Hospital and Assistant Group Chief Executive Officer, SingHealth

Drawing on perspectives from advanced manufacturing, regional supply networks and healthcare delivery, the panel explored what it takes to build a more intelligent, connected and resilient biopharma ecosystem.

A central theme was the interdependence of the value chain. Scientific and manufacturing innovation alone cannot create patient impact. Medicines must move through complex supply networks, healthcare systems and organisational boundaries before reaching the people who need them.

The discussion also examined how AI is changing work across manufacturing, supply chains and hospitals. Its potential extends beyond improving productivity within individual organisations. Supported by connected data and stronger collaboration, AI can enable better decisions across the ecosystem and help translate innovation into improved access and patient outcomes.

Even as technology transforms the industry, leadership remains fundamentally centred on people. Leaders must continue to develop their teams, provide the right systems and resources, and build trust across organisational boundaries while navigating unfamiliar territory.

For Singapore, the opportunity lies not only in its established strengths across manufacturing, logistics and healthcare, but in how effectively these capabilities can be connected. Stronger collaboration across the public and private sectors can help improve the translation of innovation into patient access and strengthen Singapore’s position within the global biopharma landscape.

The event reflected the purpose of the SGLN Biopharma Leaders Programme: to develop leaders who understand the wider ecosystem, form meaningful cross-industry connections and work collectively on challenges that no organisation can address alone.
