SGLN Four Years Forward: Shaping Global Leadership Pathways
Wednesday, 2nd September 2026
About The Event
Four years ago, the Singapore Leaders Network began with a bold ambition: to bring together globally minded Singaporeans and prepare more of them for regional and global leadership roles.
Today, that ambition has grown into a community of more than 5,000 members, supported through leadership programmes, global learning experiences, mentorship and industry networks that create the exposure, relationships and opportunities leaders need to grow beyond Singapore.
To mark this milestone, SGLN brought together our leadership community at Temasek Shophouse for Four Years Forward, a special anniversary dialogue exploring an important question for Singapore’s future:
In an interconnected world, how can Singapore continue to develop the next generation of global leaders?
The conversation featured Mr Dilhan Pillay Sandrasegara, Chief Executive Officer of Temasek Holdings, and Mr Oliver Jay, Managing Director, International at OpenAI, and was moderated by Mr John Tay, Director of Partnerships & Strategy at Tin Men Capital and an SGLN Fellow from the 2025 cohort.
Drawing on their leadership experiences across established institutions, high-growth organisations and international markets, the dialogue explored what it takes to grow from a local leader into a regional and global one. The discussion touched on the balance between stewarding what has already been built and shaping what comes next, the importance of building strong relationships and networks across borders, and how leaders can create influence beyond their organisations.
The conversation also highlighted an important responsibility of leadership: developing the people who will lead after us. Global leadership is not only about reaching senior positions, but also about adapting across contexts, building trust, creating opportunities for others and helping to strengthen the leadership ecosystem around us.
These themes are closely connected to SGLN’s mission. Through initiatives such as the SGLN Fellowship, SGLN Launchpad, Overseas Transition Support, Industry Interest Groups across TECH, Biopharma and Supply Chain, mentorship and overseas learning experiences, SGLN creates pathways for Singapore leaders to broaden their perspectives, strengthen their networks and build the confidence and capabilities to lead globally.
The anniversary was also an opportunity to recognise the community that has shaped SGLN over the past four years: from our Strategic Partners, Fellows, programme participants, SGLN Ambassadors, mentors and Advisory Council members, to the organisations, speakers and partners who continue to contribute their time, experience and networks.
Four years on, SGLN continues to build more pathways, stronger connections and greater opportunities for Singapore leaders to make an impact on the global stage.
