About The Event

As part of the first networking event of the SGLN Fellowship 2026, Fellows had the opportunity to engage with His Excellency Satvinder Singh, Deputy Secretary-General for the ASEAN Economic Community, in a fireside chat exploring Singapore’s place in a rapidly changing regional and global landscape.

Drawing on more than 27 years of regional and global leadership experience, H.E. Satvinder Singh shared first-hand perspectives on the forces shaping 2026 and beyond — from rising geopolitical tensions and shifting supply chains to the opportunities for Singapore to remain relevant and influential as regional economies continue to grow.

The conversation also looked beyond external trends to the leadership required to navigate them. Fellows explored what genuine regional leadership looks like, the mindsets needed to operate across diverse markets and cultures, and how Singapore leaders can continue to contribute meaningfully within ASEAN.

The session gave Fellows a rare opportunity to hear directly from a leader at the heart of ASEAN’s economic integration agenda, while engaging in an open discussion on the challenges and opportunities that will shape Singapore’s next chapter.
