Leading Across Generations
Tuesday, 29th July 2025
About The Event
On 29th July 2025, we witnessed a panel discussion that explored what it truly means to lead inclusively in a multigenerational world — sparked by a question that hits close to home: What if your greatest leadership lesson comes from someone half (or twice) your age?
We dived into evolving leadership styles in a digital-first era, questioned whether mentorship should still be top-down, and examined how generational stereotypes may be standing in the way of real collaboration. What emerged was clear: leadership today isn’t about age. Instead, it’s about adaptability, empathy, and the courage to bridge perspectives.
We were privileged to hear from an exceptional group of speakers. Agnes Liew and David Chua brought the wisdom and clarity of seasoned leadership, while Mohamed Irshad and Vanessa Ho represented the bold, future-focused energy of Gen Z. Moderated by Hana Schoon and Louisa Janssen, they proved that when generations come together, the result is far greater than the sum of their parts.
This event was the culmination of one of the Action Learning Projects (ALP) under the SGLN Fellowship 2025, and we couldn’t be prouder of our Fellows behind it: Hui Min Wan, Rochelle Chua, Xiangling Xu, Jackson T., Hana Schoon, and Lawrence Teh. With the support of SGLN Ambassadors Ming Yong Lee and Rachel Kuo, they tackled the theme “Exercising cultural flexibility in leading diverse teams”, and delivered an experience that was thoughtful, thought-provoking, and deeply resonant.
A big thank you to JUMBO Group Of Restaurants Pte Ltd for their generous support in making this event possible.
