Deston Tang
SGLN Launchpad and SGLN TECH
Deston supports the SGLN Launchpad and SGLN TECH programmes, contributing to the design and delivery of initiatives that help Singapore’s next generation of leaders build impactful careers across the region and beyond.
What begins as careful programme execution — the logistics, touchpoints, and participant experience — ultimately contributes to something much larger: a growing pipeline of leaders and a network that compounds in value over time. Deston believes that when small details are approached with the bigger picture in mind, even the most operational work becomes part of building something that lasts.
Deston will graduate from the Singapore Management University (SMU) in 2026 with a double major in Political Science and Public Policy & Public Management, a combination that reflects his long-standing interest in how decisions are made and what it takes to translate policy intent into meaningful outcomes on the ground.
Prior to joining SGLN, Deston worked on corporate social responsibility initiatives at DBS, where much of his work sat at the intersection of corporate action and national priorities, from social mobility to sustainability. This experience deepened his appreciation of how institutions can contribute meaningfully to broader public goals and ultimately drew him to SGLN, where developing leadership capacity is itself a significant national endeavour.
